More depth

How do you define a PEP and an RCA?

We base our definitions on EU directives, national laws, national guidance and relevant industry guidelines. The result is a list that captures every relevant role without adding noise from people who do not meet the definition.

Which countries do you cover?

All Nordic countries, all European countries and other high priority countries globally. Coverage grows every day.

Which sources do you use?

Official government sources, including direct connections to national registers such as SPAR in Sweden. On top of that we use thousands of open sources, including reports, publications and public social media, to maximise both coverage and accuracy.

What identifiers are included?

As many as possible. In Sweden every entry is matched at personal identity number level. In other countries we aim for full name, full date of birth and jurisdiction.

Do you include personal identity numbers?

Yes, in Sweden. We are continuously working to offer the same in other countries where the legal basis allows it.

How long does someone remain a PEP after leaving office?

A person stays on the list for 18 months in Sweden and 12 months in other countries after all relevant roles have ended. After that they are removed from the list and the API. When AMLR applies, the period will be 12 months in all countries.

What is your legal basis for processing the data?

We process the data under legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, to enable obliged entities to meet their requirements under current AML regulation and the coming AMLR. The data is stored securely with all relevant security measures in place.

Is the list AMLR aligned?

Yes. The list will be fully AMLR aligned before 10 July 2027. We will communicate all changes to customers well in advance so you can plan your resources.
